Everyone knows about those delicious and very
inexpensive instant noodles you can buy at the convenience store. All
you have to do is add water you get a cheap and very tasty meal.
Most people probably know
that any instant food like this is not going to be the healthy choice.
For instance, the amount of sodium in these packaged noodles is very
high.
But now there is new research that proves
that these instant noodles could be even worse for people to consume
than we originally thought.
These packaged noodles
contain a chemical called Tertiary-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ). This
harmful chemical can affect your metabolism. It might even lead to a
stroke or heart disease. These instant noodles can increase your chance
of developing metabolic syndrome.
The symptoms of metabolic syndrome include high
blood sugar, high blood pressure, and an increased risk of heart
disease, stroke and diabetes.
These instant noodles are
very popular and have grown to be even more popular all over the world.
If you are a college student or on a budget you have probably reached
for these instant noodles on more than one occasion. You might want to
consider cutting the instant noodles out of your diet. If you absolutely
love them, then at least try and decrease how often you eat them.
While these instant noodles are popular in the United States, the
country that consumes the most instant noodles is South Korea, where
researchers have been noticing a rise in metabolic syndrome. It isn’t
just the one chemical that is dangerous to your health. This food is
cheaply made and processed and filled with other chemicals. In June 2012
the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) found Benzopyrene (a
cancer causing substance) in six brands of noodles.
